Kudiramalai is a cape in Puttlam district of west of Sri Lanka and an ancient port town. According to Mahavamsa this place is identified as the place where King Vijaya landed in Sri Lanka in 543 BC. The name Tambapanni (Copper sands) which was used to call Sri Lanka afterwards is well obvious for anyone who visits this area. Kudiramaleyi mean Horse Mountain. The name became popular due to the trading of horses to pearls with the Arabic tradesman in the era of Queen Alli Arasani who ruled this area at a later period. Kudiramalai is filled with unique landscapes which definitely is a wonderful memory for travelers and photographers like me.
