Kuvenis Palace in Wilpaththu
These ruins situated in the middle of Wilpaththu National Park are believed to be the palace of Kuveni. Kuveni was a wife of Sri Lanka's first recorded king Vijaya and she had two children, a son named Jeevahatta and the daughter as Disala. According to the Mahavansa, the aboriginal population of Sri Lanka the Veddas are descended from Kuveni's children. Surrounded by cotton trees this place is proof of once flourished civilization.
