Physical Difficulty- No intense trekking or similar activities, mostly road trips and short walks.

Please note that this tour is NOT only for serious photographers, but also for anyone who is interested in image-making or exploring beautiful places. Non-photographers can also join. However, as being a photo tour, the agenda will be followed accurately to cater to the photography needs of participants.
Belihuloya is a very scenic area situated in the Ratnapura District, Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka. It is approximately 150 kilometers (93 mi) south-east of Colombo and is situated at an elevation of 616 meters (2,021 ft) above sea level. This hillside location is a climatically transitional area, linking both the dry and wet zones and the hill and low country. Some of the most beautiful waterfalls and mountains of Sabaragamuwa is situated around proximity to Belihuloya.
This Landscape photography tour is the best way to see all those amazing places, and at the same time take beautiful images by being at the right place at the right time.
We will be travelling through roads surrounded by lush greenery and tall mountains, passing streams with ice cold water and waterfalls, taking photographs whenever there is opportunity. We will witness great sunrises and sunsets and at the same time natures beauty through fog and mist under morning light. Whatever the camera equipment you have, the best landscape photographs will be waiting for you.
You will be traveling with me from start to the end of the tour, and I will mentor you on the best practices of photography when you take photographs. You will be guided as and when required on which gear and settings to use and the best compositions you can get your photos from. The photos you take on this tour will be unique and high quality as you will get some of the best advices while you shoot.
You can shoot away with your DSLR or mirrorless cameras, action cams, mobile phone camera or drones. You will have plenty of time to experiment photography techniques and use filters or even do creative videos and time lapses, as we spend ample time in one location as that’s the best way to make amazing landscape photography.
And we will stay in a comfortable hotel that is surrounded by nature, where you will enjoy the food, climate and atmosphere of the area.
ITINERARY 3Days/2Nights
Day 1
Morning we will meet and greet in Colombo as a group in a predetermined location. And then leave to Belihuloya before 9.00am. We will reach Belihuloya by noon and check in to our camp site for lunch. After lunch and some rest, we will go boating in the Samanala reservoir. In the evening we will head towards a waterfront to capture the sunset. And if time permits see a beautiful waterfall nearby. And at night I will do a photo critic and editing session. And I will demonstrate some of the techniques I use to post-process my images. Then after dinner we go to bed a bit early as we had a long day.
Day 2
We will start at 5.30am with a quick coffee or tea and head towards upper grounds to photograph the Sunrise. The sunrise does not wait for us so we will swiftly do our best to get the maximum at location. Then we will have Breakfast and visit 2 of the most iconic waterfalls in the area. Towards noon we will head back to our hotel for lunch and have a rest till the afternoon. This is a good time for you to download and back-up the precious bunch of photographs you captured in the morning and freshen up. And in the night, we will critic our own photos and share more knowledge. If you have your own laptops you can edit with me.
Day 3
After morning tea, we will do sunrise and waterscape photography early morning without going too far from our camp site. Then after breakfast we will checkout and start our journey back to Colombo. We will have lunch and reach Colombo towards the afternoon and end the tour. Our cameras will be full of photographs and minds will be full of new photography knowledge, and memories of some of the most beautiful places in Sri Lanka.
While the above itinerary is set, we may have to deviate and look for alternatives due to various reasons such as weather, road closures or time limitations. This is something we always look forward to as Landscape photographers.

This tour is organized by Priyantha Bandara. Priyantha who is based in Colombo, Sri Lanka is a well-known Travel and Landscape photographer.
This tour is carefully crafted to cater to the photographer and traveler inside you with the expert knowledge I share. And the tour will be delivered in Sinhala, English.

(Self drive option Rs 22,000. With this option you can come in your own transport)
A down payment of Rs 5000 is required to reserve a seat in this tour.
In case of tour cancellation due to any unforeseen reasons from the organizing party, a full refund will be made.
In case a participant cancel the reservation prior to 14 days of tour, 50% of the deposit will be refunded.
Please note it is not possible to refund if a participant cancel the reservation under 7 days of tour.
